Oakwood Primary School

RSE & PSHCE (Wellbeing)

Our Vision

At Oakwood, our PSHE and Wellbeing curriculum promotes and supports the mental health and emotional wellbeing of every child, helping them to feel safe, valued, and ready to learn. Through a nurturing and inclusive curriculum, we aim to develop positive and respectful relationships, self-belief, honesty, determination, and a lifelong passion for learning.

We want our children to understand and manage their emotions, celebrate individuality, and show empathy and respect towards others. Pupils are encouraged to work collaboratively, developing teamwork skills and learning how to communicate thoughtfully, resolve conflicts positively, and contribute meaningfully to their community.

At Oakwood, children are supported to become resilient, independent, and confident individuals who are prepared to face challenges with a positive mindset. We encourage pupils to take pride in themselves and their achievements, showing honesty and responsibility in their choices and actions. Through opportunities to reflect, discuss, and participate in school life, children develop the confidence and skills needed to contribute positively to the wider world and become respectful, responsible citizens.
