Our Vision

It is our aim to develop children’s musical competence and confidence, building on fundamental musical skills while inspiring all pupils to develop the foundations of a lifelong love of music. Through a carefully sequenced and engaging curriculum, pupils revisit and build upon key musical concepts in a range of contexts, allowing their understanding to deepen over time. Our varied musical experiences spark pupils’ passion, nurturing enjoyment and encouraging a lasting appreciation of music beyond the classroom. Through collaborative ensemble work, pupils develop teamwork, learning to listen carefully, keep in time and contribute to a shared musical outcome. We strive to nurture a creative and reflective mindset through regular opportunities to perform, compose and listen; these experiences also build self-belief and determination, enabling pupils to grow in confidence, persevere through challenge and recognise their own musical potential, so that they can participate confidently and achieve successful outcomes by the end of each key stage.
